《暮鼓晨鐘問到明》      BUDDHIST DAWN: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

This independent, non-commercial, and non-political website is the official website for posting portable-document-format (PDF) files of a book of Buddhist studies co-authored by Lung, Tin Yick (龍天翼), who is a bilingual poet and a retired professional engineer, and Shi, Ji Chuan (釋繼傳), who is a Buddhist monk and the incumbent abbot of a Buddhist monastery.  This book introduces some basic doctrines of Buddhism by using an innovative approach, resolves perplexities by clearing up misconceptions, and investigates the limits of seeking congruities between Buddhism and science by penetrating the crux of the issue.  It has the depth of academic writing but is easy for the layperson to comprehend.  The 2014 Chinese edition and the 2020 English edition have been assigned different English titles as shown below in chronological order.  Efforts have been made in the 2020 English edition to correct some common misapprehensions about Confucianism since Western ethics and Confucian ethics are discussed as a lead-in in the chapter on Buddhist ethics and since the average English reader is not likely as familiar with Confucianism as the average Chinese reader is.  Friendly readers from all parts of the world are welcome to view the contents of both editions online without obligation by clicking on the images below.  The PDF files posted here are printable and downloadable but please bear in mind that all editions of this book are copyrighted and are not for sale.  Also, the webmaster recommends against any retransmission of the posted PDF files since a copy file can be exposed to a higher risk of modification by hackers.
